Liam Creedon is a guitarist, vocalist, lap steel musician and Musical Director from Aberdeen, Scotland, whose career spans over 25 years of performance, recording, teaching and technical support for professional musicians. Recognised for his attention to tone, feel and musical authenticity, Liam has built a reputation as both a versatile musician and a specialist in recreating some of rock’s most iconic sounds.

Beginning his musical journey in 1996 under the guidance of guitarist Daniel Small, Liam developed his craft through years of dedicated study before expanding his musical vocabulary through further training with Aberdeen-based jazz guitarist  Scott Cruickshank, workshops with theLondon Symphony Orchestra, and one-to-one guidance from Les Nemes, bassist for UK chart-toppers Haircut 100.

This broad musical foundation has allowed Liam to perform across a diverse range of styles, from funk and soul with Freddie’s Offspring, progressive rock with Bite the Bullet, metal with Portray the Silence, indie rock with Vulpine, and pop-punk with Fahrenheit. These experiences shaped a musician equally comfortable across different genres while maintaining a constant focus on expression, tone and feel.

Liam’s recorded work includes vocal contributions featured within the community choir and spoken-word arrangements on Enter Shikari’s 2009 album Common Dreads, which reached No.16 in the UK Albums Chart and achieved Gold certification. Further recording projects include Dave Bremner’s Luna Reklipse, signed to MTV Viacom, and The Fluffy Jackets: The Rise And Fall Of The Songwriter, featuring Neil Murray of Whitesnake and released on vinyl in 2026.

From 2013 until 2025, Liam performed as lead guitarist with Wish You Were Floyd, becoming recognised for his detailed interpretation of David Gilmour’s guitar style and the sonic character of Pink Floyd’s music. Through years of live performances, Liam developed a reputation for capturing not only the notes, but the tone, dynamics and emotional feel that define Gilmour’s playing.

Since joining Project Floyd – Scotland’s Authentic Pink Floyd Tribute Show in January 2025, Liam has served as Musical Director and Lead Guitarist, overseeing musical arrangements, performance standards and the overall authenticity of the production.

Under Liam’s musical direction, Project Floyd delivered the acclaimed Darker Side Of The Wall production in February 2026, celebrating the landmark albums The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall. The band’s forthcoming production Pulse And Thunder draws inspiration from Pink Floyd’s legendary Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse concert films, featuring a complete live performance of the second half of The Dark Side Of The Moon.

Alongside his performing career, Liam has developed extensive experience as a guitar technician, combining a player’s understanding of feel and tone with the technical knowledge required to prepare instruments for professional performance. His technical work has included supporting Manny Charlton, founding guitarist of Scottish hard rock legends Nazareth, providing guitar, amplifier and pedalboard maintenance, preparation and optimisation for live and studio use.

Liam’s technical involvement has extended into recording and archival projects including The Fluffy Jackets’ Something From Nothing DVD , The Rise And Fall Of The Songwriter, and restoration work connected with Manny Charlton’s final live performance. He has also provided technical support and equipment solutions for professional musicians including Rod Jones of Idlewild and Fatherson, and members of the Carl Sentance-led Nazareth lineup.

His expertise in guitar tone and equipment has been recognised through relationships and support from companies including Vintage, Kinellar Guitar Studios, Tonerider, Ironstone Pickups, Analog Design Audio, and previous support from Hiwatt.

Liam’s approach to tone, feel and musical expression has also received recognition from respected figures within the international music community. Jon Carin, keyboardist for Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Kate Bush and The Who, praised Liam’s understanding of musical nuance:

Liam’s playing has also received recognition from Vinnie Vincent of KISS and Vinnie Vincent Invasion. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Liam shared a performance video of himself playing “No Substitute”, which received a positive response from Vincent, who commented “very cool”.

In 2025, Liam further developed his classical foundation through private study with Francis Dunnery of It Bites, whose career includes collaborations with Robert Plant, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, and Lauryn Hill. This study strengthened Liam’s classical technique while deepening his understanding of musical expression and progressive performance.

In 2026, Liam auditioned for Roger Waters Presents: Legacy, progressing through two audition stages and becoming one of the final five candidates. Following this process, former Brit Floyd guitarist Edo Scordo invited Liam to Germany and Luxembourg to portray Roger Waters in productions presented by Star Entertainment and Lancelot Productions Lda.

Performing centre stage in productions of The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall, Liam appeared alongside P.J. Olsson of The Alan Parsons Project and guitarist Jay Stapley, whose career includes performances and recordings with Roger Waters, Mike Oldfield, Eric Clapton, Seal, Tina Turner, Tom Jones and Paul Young.

Today, Liam continues to combine his experience as a performer, Musical Director, educator and guitar technician, bringing a detailed understanding of tone, feel and musical authenticity to every project he undertakes.
