With over 20 years of teaching and performance experience, I provide guitar lessons that help students of all levels build confidence, skill, and creativity. Lessons are tailored to your goals, whether that’s preparing for exams, mastering technique, or playing for enjoyment. I am a certified member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT), representing the London College of Music, ensuring a structured and professional approach to learning.

I follow structured syllabi including Fast Track Grades 1–3 and Rockschool Grades 1–6, giving clear, measurable progress while keeping learning fun and engaging.

I combine formal training with real-world experience. I hold an HNC in Music and Music Theory and have trained with jazz guitarist Scott Cruickshank, attended workshops with the London Symphony Orchestra, and received personal instruction from Les Nemes, bassist for Haircut 100, bringing direct insight from a seasoned professional in the music industry. My approach focuses on giving students practical strategies, personalised guidance, and structured lessons that deliver results quickly.

I’ve taught across multiple styles—Rock, Blues, Classical, Jazz—and techniques including Classical, Acoustic, Slide, and Electric guitar. I worked alongside Niall Mathewson of international 80s prog band Pallas, adding valuable industry insight to my teaching.

My previous roles include leading instruction at Inverurie and Huntly Schools of Music and running Amped Up Guitar School, which served students across Aberdeenshire and Moray. I’ve also contributed extensively to community music programs, earning two Millennium Volunteer (MV) Awards presented by John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth, in recognition of my dedication.
